TRUSTED IMPLEMENTATION, in collaboration with Progress Étteremhálózat Kft. who is the McDonald’s Hungarian Developmental Licensee Partner of McDonald’s, and Market Építő Zrt., has been named a finalist in the European Content Awards 2024 for its “History, Renovation, and Innovation” campaign.
This project was the renovation of Hungary’s first McDonald’s in Régi Posta utca. Therefore, it is not just a refurbishment; it is a cultural renaissance. This project transcends mere aesthetics; it is a celebration of Hungary’s journey from the Soviet era to a modern, Western-oriented society. The original opening of McDonald’s 35 years ago symbolized freedom, luxury, and a glimpse into the Western world. The renovation of this iconic establishment rekindles these memories, offering a contemporary twist to a historical beacon.

The transformation involved high-end materials and artisanal craftsmanship, echoing the luxury once associated with Western products during the Soviet era. This approach reignited a historical and emotional connection for Hungarians, reminding them of the excitement and aspiration associated with the brand during the fall of the Iron Curtain. The inclusion of gourmet cuisine by celebrity chef Jenő Rácz, featuring dishes like foie gras and salmon caviar, served as a bridge between the past’s luxury and today’s culinary sophistication.
